// The story
Ledgers, shop floors, and everything between
Aditya qualified as a Chartered Accountant in May 2009 and made an unusual choice: rather than the conventional route through statutory audit or tax, he committed his entire career to risk — enterprise risk management, internal audit, SOX and internal financial controls, standard operating procedures, and fraud investigation.
That focus took him through the front rank of the profession. In Risk Advisory at Ernst & Young, he worked on a flagship engagement creating the Internal Audit Manual for ONGC — India's largest upstream Oil & Gas PSU — alongside engagements at Reliance Industries spanning six locations. At Deloitte, he did it again: building the Internal Audit Manual for Oil India, the country's second-largest upstream Oil & Gas PSU, while leading marquee accounts like Jindal SAW. At Grant Thornton, he rose from Manager to Associate Director on the back of 10/10 client satisfaction scores and 100% engagement renewals with fee increments.
As Director & Practice Lead at MGB Advisors, he established the Delhi Governance, Risk & Compliance practice from zero — running the office P&L and independently securing empanelments with NHAI, the National Investigation Agency, and the Narcotics Control Bureau. He later returned to Grant Thornton Bharat as Director – Risk Consulting, overseeing 25–35 parallel audits and presenting at 10–15 Audit Committee and Board meetings every quarter.
Along the way, the work has ranged from the sensitive to the inventive: fraud investigations at FMCG, automotive, and metal mining clients — and, for MSME clients, innovative applications for controlling processes such as asset verification, gate entry, visitor entry, and automated voucher entry.
Risk Vigilant Bharat was founded in 2019 — originally as a research project for creating new audit solutions. It has since grown into the firm, and Audit Grid is its ambition: taking everything Aditya learned about how audits are scoped, staffed, executed, and communicated, and rebuilding it as an operating system the whole profession can run on.
